had an amazing time at a hostel in ipanema. the bar area had a great social atmosphere and the staff were super friendly and helpful. the location was perfect, close to the beach and tours were easily booked through whatsapp. overall, exceeded expectations for a weekend trip in rio de janeiro!

The hostel was located in an ideal spot, just a short walk from both Copacabana and Ipanema beaches, offering plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities. The rooms were spacious and had a charming balcony overlooking the gardens, providing a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The kitchen facilities were well-equipped, making it easy to prepare meals. Additionally, the friendly staff were always available to help with any questions or concerns.

The bar at the hostel didn't serve drinks, so guests had to bring their own if they wanted to enjoy a few drinks onsite.

I recently stayed at Pura Vida for 6 days, and as a solo traveler, I had a fantastic time. The hostel is located in a vibrant area, close to Copacabana Beach. Despite being at the beginning of a favela, I felt safe with 24/7 police presence. The room was lovely with a nice balcony, air conditioning, and clean sheets/towels. The staff, especially Jesus, were friendly and organized great tours and parties. Furthermore, the breakfast was good with helpful staff who spoke multiple languages.

I would highly recommend this hotel.

I had a wonderful time at the hostel. Gustavo and Regis, the hosts, made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. The location is perfect, whether you're into museums, beaches, or nightlife. The hostel itself is beautiful, with a charming terrace and a mix of old-world grandeur and modern amenities. The activities organized by the hostel, like karaoke nights and hikes to view points, made it easy to meet new people and have a great time. The shower was excellent and the room was clean and cozy. I would give my experience a 10/10 or more!

Couldn't stay longer

I recently stayed at Pura Vida for my first trip to Brazil. The location was perfect, just a short walk to Copacabana Beach and the metro. The staff was extremely helpful and made me feel welcome, especially Mirela at reception. The room was comfortable with a nice balcony and private bathroom. The bed was cozy and the breakfast was delicious. The bar had great happy hour prices and the atmosphere was lively. a wonderful experience.

It truly felt like a family. Everyone was incredibly nice and welcoming. The location was perfect, with Ipanema and Copacabana within a 10-minute walk. The room I stayed in was lovely, with a nice balcony and air conditioning. it was a perfect balance between partying and getting work done. I even ended up extending my stay by 10 days!

Bossa Nova was created at the historic bar. Refreshing drinks at the Taverna Saint Roman make you forget about the chaos. I had a great time cycling and enjoying the water adventures nearby.

The drinks at the bar were cheap and the location was perfect, close to Ipanema and Copacabana beach. The staff, especially Atlas, were super friendly and helpful. Atlas gave us a tour of the hostel and made us feel welcome. The kitchen facilities had plenty of space for storage and the fridge and freezer were sufficient for everyone's needs.

There were also issues with bugs in the rooms, such as cockroaches and ants. The lack of safes and poor door locks made us feel uneasy about leaving our valuables in the room.

The hostel is conveniently located just a few minutes away from the beach, making it easy to enjoy the sun and sand. the hostel offers a well-equipped kitchen, perfect for those who want to prepare their own meals. The staff is friendly and welcoming, creating a friendly atmosphere for guests.

Some nights can be noisy, which may disturb those looking for a peaceful night's sleep.
